Mission: At Feed the Frontlines NYC (FTF) we seek to fuel the extraordinary efforts of our city’s healthcare workers while also supporting our local restaurants and their employees.Project support request: Public funding strategy and advocacy, long-term sustainability At Feed the Frontlines, we believe supporting small businesses, fighting food insecurity, and fueling frontline workers should go hand-in-hand. We envision a future in which restaurants across the country play an ongoing, vital role in feeding people in need and frontline workers working night and day to respond to disasters. We seek a sustainable source of funding from public and private sources to do so. To achieve this goal, we have to convince municipalities and states to institutionalize the model we have built in New York City during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Current Status and project goals: FTF is providing a lifeline to restaurants and their employees by creating opportunities for local eateries to prepare and deliver hot, nutritious meals free of cost to people in their neighborhoods. FTF envisions a future in which restaurants across the country continue to play a vital role feeding people in need as well as frontline workers working night and day to respond to disasters. |
